Description Adrian 2008-06-12 01:31:24 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: GCC 4.3.1
OS: Linux

When I want to see some www pages (for example http://poczta.o2.pl or http://www.osnews.com) browser starts to take much CPU time and after a few seconds kwin wants to kill browser's process. It happens with Konqueror and Opera (I didn't check Firefox, because I don't have it installed).

what version are you using? On 4.00.82 (r819658) the first page seems to render very quickly, but claims to still be loading for a while (what, i can't tell... i don't see any difference before/after). The second page hits my cpu (24% at most) (because of the flash?), but also renders quickly.
Comment 2 Adrian 2008-06-12 14:11:56 UTC
I have r819746. CPU usage increases *after* the page is rendered. And I think it is not konqueror problem, because I have the same issue with Opera (which works well in KDE 3.5.9).

Comment 3 Adrian 2008-06-25 01:23:44 UTC
I have r824084 now and this problem is still present. After http://poczta.o2.pl (and some other sites) renders it starts to take 99% of CPU time and after a few seconds kwin ask me if it should kill konqueror's (or Opera's if I use Opera) process. In my opinion it is unlikely that it's konqueror problem, because both Konq and Opera suffer from the same problem.

Based on comment #3 this is not a KDE nor Konqueror issue. Perhaps it is related to all those desktop effects realted issues that were present in those versions. Anyhow, closing as INVALID.
