Description Syam 2008-06-07 22:40:02 UTC
Version: 0.6.3 (using KDE 4.0.4)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

The 'View' menu has all options to decide the presentation scheme, except for full screen mode. I almost thought Okular had no full-screen option, when I couldn't spot in the View menu. Then I found it in the Settings menu, where it stands out, as there are no other view/presentation related settings there.
I think the full screen option is better off in the View menu.

Has the mail reached Okular developers? I got a mail saying that it's waiting for moderator approval. Any love on this one?

This depends on global KDE HIG decisions, see bug 106807.

@Pino
Any plans to move it to the View menu in KDE 4.2? Following the discussions in bug 106807, I guess that's the way you guys are planning to go.

Unless the HIG changes, no.
Comment 5 Syam 2009-05-01 18:29:34 UTC
So, has the usability group (the HIG?) made any decisions?

No. And note that asking periodically on this bug won't have any effect...
This bug will be notified for changes in bug 106807, so no need to ping.

That is obvious by now. :-)

That's good.

I don't know how the develop process works, but I do know Okular needs much easier to use touch screen navigation in the presentation mode. I say this as a 2 in 1 folding tablet owner that would like to use Okular to display sheet music while performing at the piano. There needs to be a way to touch the screen on the left side to backup one page. Side by side page view in presentation mode is alsof sorely needed.

Today I was looking for "Full Screen" view as well, found it in the "settings" menu after way too much time, was expecting it int "view".

This is not a very intuitive place to look for it, "view" is the natural place for it.

This is unblocked now because the HIG team has decided that the action should be moved to the View menu.

Marking as a duplicate of Bug 106807 because we can actually fix this in one place rather than having to patch individual apps!
