Description Joonas Koivunen 2008-06-07 11:52:14 UTC
Version: 4.0.5 (KDE 4.0.5) (using 4.0.5 (KDE 4.0.5), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-17-generic

Test file: http://research.microsoft.com/~swinder/papers/winder_brown_cvpr07.pdf

It seems that when okular is being embedded to konqueror and in scrolling down (up) only lower (upper) 1/8 of available okular area is being updated.

When you drag the file to a standalone okular application (normally launched from K Menu) everything works ok.

Scrolling when embedded in konqueror doesn't only affect the main part but also the thumbnail view.

End result is in short that you cannot read pdf's under konqueror after this 4.0.5 regression.
Comment 1 Praveen Srinivasan 2008-06-20 20:23:53 UTC
I have observed the exact same behavior in both 4.0.5 and 4.1 beta.
Comment 2 Dario Andres 2008-07-25 03:45:00 UTC
KDE 4.1.00 (KDE 4.0.99 (4.1 RC1+)) (KDEmod) in ArchLinux
I can't reproduce this bug. Browsing the test file in the Okular embedded in Konqueror is OK.

KDE 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1 final (KDEmod) in ArchLinux i686)
I can't reproduce this bug. Browsing the test file in the Okular embedded in Konqueror is OK.
Comment 4 Joonas Koivunen 2008-07-30 19:47:58 UTC
Cannot confirm this either, using 4.1 under kubuntu 8.04.1, i guess this is fixed.
Comment 5 John 2008-08-04 09:34:59 UTC
Unfortunately, this annoying bug is still present in 4.1... To reproduce it, just open the PDF in an embedded view, zoom in and scroll up or down.

Reopen bug as per feedback.

Comment 10 Romain GUINOT 2008-08-24 17:56:45 UTC
I can confirm this using fedora RPMs for 4.1.0.

Scrolling a PDF file in Okular standalone is OK, scrolling embedded in Konqueror only scrolls it within a portion of the view, either the main part or the thumbnail part ...this is indeed rather annoying :(
Comment 11 Xavier Corredor Llano 2008-09-08 16:21:17 UTC
I can confirm this bug, only success okular kpart in konqueror, is impossible read pdf.

okular version: 0.7.1 (KDE 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1) "release 31.3", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0)
Comment 12 Anders Lund 2008-09-08 20:19:18 UTC
I have observed that if I detaqch the tab containig the okular part, it works, similar if it is onened in a separate window.
Comment 13 A.Katan 2008-10-28 17:38:38 UTC
The same problem (scrolling just a narrow part of the top of the bottom of page) ever after doing a text search query
Comment 14 Romain GUINOT 2008-10-28 17:44:35 UTC
Hi,

This problem has disappeared for me with 4.1.2.scrolling (with or without an active text search) works when embedded in Konqueror

@A.Katan : what version are you using ?
Comment 15 Xavier Corredor Llano 2008-10-28 18:08:49 UTC
this bug fixed when I update to kde 4.1.2
Comment 16 Dario Andres 2008-12-26 15:05:14 UTC
Can anyone still reproduce this bug with a recent KDE version? (4.1.3 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2svn) ? Thanks :)
Comment 17 Roger Larsson 2008-12-26 18:38:37 UTC
I have seen it recently (did not see it for awhile)
I will try to reproduce it (hint: after hidden/minimized)
Comment 18 Roger Larsson 2008-12-28 20:31:36 UTC
No, I can not reproduce it anymore.

(I have recently upgraded to SuSE 11.1,
SuSE 11.0 used an older Qt4 - 4.0 if I am not mistaken
but I was used newest KDE builds)
Comment 19 Anders Lund 2008-12-28 20:40:37 UTC
It does look like this problem has been solved, luckily :-)
Comment 20 Dario Andres 2008-12-28 20:44:42 UTC
