I have attempted for a month to try to view video cams on Kopete using Linux. I can see myself but other people can't see me.  When people try to invite me to watch their videos the system crashes.  I hit the tab for more information and there is none that can be provided.

Kopete and KPhotoAlbum are two distinct products.

It is not PhotoAlbum.  It is Kopete chat.  I do not use KPhotoabum.  I have two seperate video cam programs and neither one works on Kopete.  Also it crashes when someone tries to link me to there camera.

 What protocol are you using to view webcams  ?  MSN or Yahoo ?

I am using Linux as my platform so not MSN Or Yahoo but the person I am chatting with uses Yahoo.  I use either Cheese or Camorama.

 Using Kopete 4.1.60 , KDE 4.2>=20080709 I am not able to get the webcam to work on yahoo with the yahoo official client. Neither sending nor receiving a request works.

webcams have been fixed for KDE 4.4
