Version:           onbekend (using 3.5.9 "release 62.2" , openSUSE )
Compiler:          Target: i586-suse-linux
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.17-0.1-default

When I login again to my KDE 3 desktop, all KDE 4 applications I started are replaced with KDE 3 equivalents. For example, instead of restoring /usr/bin/kopete, /opt/kde3/bin/kopete is restarted even though I did explicitly start the KDE 4 version from the KDE-menu.

My $PATH is currently:
/opt/kde3/bin:/home/diederik/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/games:/usr/lib/jvm/jre/bin:/usr/lib/mit/bin:/usr/lib/mit/sbin:/usr/NX/bin:/opt/gnome/bin:/usr/lib/qt3/bin:/opt/extra/bin:/opt/games/bin
at openSUSE 10.3.

Update your kdebase4-runtime package.
