Version: 1.9.51 (using 4.00.80 (KDE 4.0.80 >= (KDE 4.1 Beta1) "release 4.2", compiled sources) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.4-8-default If I want to create a filter to move a message with particular characteristics to another folder, Kontact with KMail crashes if I click on the button for choosing a target folder. For reproducing: - Choose a message from Inbox - In context menu choose "Create Filter" -> "Filter on From ..." - "Filter Action" - "Please select a folder" - <button> - a click on this <button> crashes KMail
I can't reproduce this crash following your test case. Could you please provide a backtrace for this crash ? You can find instructions on this page : http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
I see, I forgot some details. The test case continues: - Folder windows opens with: "- LocalFolders" | "Local Folders" but there is not any of the many subfolders to see in this view. (Maybe important) hint: The ~/Mail was overtaken and NOT migrated in any way from KDE 3.5.9 to KDE 4.1 directly. I stopped working with KMail from 3.5.9 and working now with the new KMail on the same folder. Is there a problem with some indexes?
Another detail: The crash happens if I click on the popup with the "Local Folders". No stack trace is offered at all (or just can't find it?)
Now I launched "Rebuild Index..." from the context menu of folder index, for which I want to create a filter on dedicated messages. No change. Do I really have to import the messages I already see in the Folder view from KDE 3.5.9 over "Import Messages..."? The crash happens on clicking at the "-" in "- Local Folders" with an empty folder list, probably some kind of NullPointer.
