(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: unknown Version: KDE-base-2.0-7 Severity: normal Installed from: Mandrake RPM's Hi I read through the bug reports already generated but read that most were pre-KDE FINAL release bugs. This is a bug that is still present in the FINAL release. I have found a partial solution to it so it may help you to understand the 'link' better. If you use Netscape and Gimp and a few other 'non-KDE' apps you have the tool tips and cursor blinking away it really does get very anoying. I discovered that the reason is is that I prefer for my panel to 'auto hide' I had it set at a 1 second rate so I tried setting it at a 4 second rate and the blinking slowed down then I turned it off and NO BLINKING. It's quite obvious that these two are linked and this is one irratating bug that needs to be squashed. Thank you for hearing me. Richard A. McCormick (submitted via bugs.kde.org)

I also noticed that if you press ALT-F2 the "run" dialog looses focus if you have kicker running AND autohide. If you turn autohide offf like you said the dialog keeps focus. This is also a problem when pressing ALT+TAB for switching between windows. Another problem is under Enlightenment the windows "flicker-focus" when you have kicker running. I also heard that people are having trouble with Corel-WordPerfect for Linux using KDE-2 and its probably related to this strange kicker behaviour. -- Andreas Joseph Krogh <andreak@nettet.no>
