Well, I don't know if reporting this as a kwin bug is correct, but I see a lot of applications starting up with a window size that does not match the content of the main window very well. I see konqueror starting with a very large screen. Also kpatience on first use is too large. Other games start with a way too small window. Is there a way too make the default windows size more sane?

I confirm that lot of games start with a small window size, but even other programs.

Do the applications still open with incorrect sizes when using Metacity or Compiz? I'm pretty sure this is an application bug.

Maybe is a good addition to kapplication or something like that, automatic good guess of initial geometry

@Dario: I experienced this bug in some games but, if I remember correctly, there is already a specific bug report at least for one of them.

This isn't an actionable bug since it combines many different issues that are all of a general nature. Please file new bugs on specific apps where you see the problem.
