Version: (using KDE 4.0.4) Installed from: Fedora RPMs We have a loosely coupled network of about 60 systems all over the country. These systems are only occasionally connected with out network via PPP. I had a script running that created .desktop entries in ~/.kde/share/apps/konsole/ and then ran dcop konsole reparseConfiguration. This resulted in a session drop down menu that showed me which machines are connected, and I could ssh to them immediately. I don't know if this is a compelling use case, but I certainly liked it. Enough to be running the konsole from 3.5.9 right now under KDE 4.0.4

Actually, I found it , on konsole-15.08 at least qdbus org.kde.konsole /MainApplication org.kde.KApplication.reparseConfiguration
