When right clicking on the pager and selecting "Configure Desktops", no matter how many desktops you choose to have the number stays at 3 desktops.

 Forgot to mention, running KDE4 installed from Ubuntu/Debian pkg's on a x64 CPU. Have installed KDE4 on this machine although the default desktop with this version is Gnome.

update: When desktop effects are disabled, number will go with settings in "configure Desktops". Was using Compiz. which according to documentation is unsupported.
