Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: SuSE RPMs On digikam startup the keyword tree is automatically expanded at all levels. This makes it very difficult to find a single keyword, if the tree gets a little bit larger. It would be nice to have the possibility to automatically collapse all of the tree's nodes.
Chris, Your entry is invalid. All work fine for me. Why ? see below: 1/ digiKam remember all treeview state between session. If all treeview is collapsed before to close digiKam, you will see this view as well at the next session. 2/ On the bottom of all treeview (tags included), there is now a search text filter to easy and speedly find something in tree. Can't reproduce #1. Each time I start up digikam all keywords are expanded. digikam don't seems to remember anything about which keywords are collapsed. Thanks for the hint in #2. I'll try to use this more often.
I can confirm #1 for digikam 0.9.4 beta4. Each and every time I start digikam, the keyword tree in the sidetab is completely expanded no matter how it looked like when I closed digikam the last time. Would be nice if digikam really would keep the previous state of keywordtree-expansion.
Should I close this (whishlist) issue and open a new bug report?
Chris, No need to close it. the file is fine for me... Gilles
Gilles, for me the tree is saved, tested with the KDE4 version of digiKam. Also the new collapse patch should handle the expand when searching for keywords. About the initial problem: Now that we have collapseView() function, a button could be added to collapse the tree and only expand to the current viewed album. Like it would do if you use the clear button in the klineedit widget. Andi
Andi, Where you you want to place this new button ? Why not to use treeview contextual pop-up menu instead (where all others options are already hosted) ? Gilles Caulier
Sure, this is also a possibility :-) Right now I'm trying to fix the problem that not all folderviews save their states. For example TagFilterView and TAlbumListView are not doing this. Then we can discuss if such an option is really necessary. Andi
Andi, Something news here, about a patch ? Gilles Caulier
Julian, Outside the previous comment to Andi, the original problem of this entry still valid using digiKam 3.5.0 ? Giles Caulier
The original problem do not exist using current implementation from git/master. Tags tree-view status is properly restored between sessions Gilles Caulier
