Description zetheroo 2008-05-10 22:52:29 UTC
Version: 2.0.3 (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I have Ubuntu 8.04 installed fresh on my Thinkpad T60 and prior to that had Ubuntu 7.10 installed. I have always liked using Gwenview in Ubuntu, especially due to the fact that it worked well with the kipi-plugins package in the Ubuntu repository.

However now with the new, and sleek, Gwenview 2.0.3 it seems to me that the kipi-plugins package no longer integrates itself into Gwenview -- at least no longer like it used to.

I also tried installing the libkipi package in from the Ubuntu repo but it had no effect in Gwenview.

So I am wondering what is to be done to get KIPI working in the new Gwenview?

Thanks

Zetheroo

kipi support has been added to gwenview 2.0.x, but either libkipi or kipi-plugins are not officially released for kde4 so if Ubuntu has built gwenview with kipi support should also have built kipi and kipi-plugins (at least the ones that have been ported to kde4 by kipi team). You can't use kipi from kde3.

How do I get the new KIPI packages for my version of Gwenview?

Sorry but I am not an advanced user of Linux and as such need a little more help getting around. Could you help me by being a bit more explanatory?

Thanks

well this is not the right place where to talk about that, maybe it's better
to contact developer into kde-imaging mailing list, anyway some info are
into kde home page (http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started)
