Description Tristan Miller 2008-05-08 12:58:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In Konqueror, Gwenview, etc., previews are not generated for certain TIFF files. I assume, therefore, that this is a problem with kimgio. I will attach a TIFF file which triggers this bug.

The attached image seems to work fine here with KDE 3.5.9. Konqueror displays a preview, Kuickshow and KView show the full image.

Using KDE4 (from trunk): Dolphin and Konqueror show a preview, Okular and Gwenview both display the image.

File information is:

TIFF Directory at offset 0x8 (8)
  Subfile Type: (0 = 0x0)
Image Width: 700 Image Length: 921
  Resolution: 600, 600 pixels/inch
  Bits/Sample: 1
  Compression Scheme: None
  Photometric Interpretation: min-is-white
  Samples/Pixel: 1
  Rows/Strip: 921
  Planar Configuration: single image plane
  Photoshop Data: <present>, 4406 bytes

I tried renaming the file from 001.TIF to 001.tif and the preview displayed in Konqueror. Is it standard for KDE to ignore uppercase file extensions?

No longer reproducible in KDE 4.3.2.
