Description Mike Ponomarenko 2008-05-01 10:31:20 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Ubuntu 7.1 and 8.04 have seem to have broken kde libs. Frequently applications stop to load without a reason. Most of time when started from console, you would see messages like:

kopete: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeprint.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZNK7KAction)isPluggedEv
konsole: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeprint.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZNK7KAction)isPluggedEv
usually it fails with other symbols. (I will add them to this bug, when another crash will occur)

I have only one version of libkdeprint installed : libkdeprint.so.4.2.0 (from package kdelis4c2a)

Usually, this starts after kded locks up (more precisely: kded gets 100%cpu usage when akregator refreshes password protected feed, while password request box from kopete is opened, and password not entered)

also: reinstalling kdelibs4c2a helped without reboot.

This is mostly a problem of your distro.

I agree. But strangely, such things does not happen to any of non-kde applications. I will report to ubuntu bigzilla.
