Description dmoyne 2008-04-23 12:39:56 UTC
Version: 3.5.9 (using 3.5.9, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu7)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-16-generic

Sorry as this might not be filed at the right place but I never understood how to file bug reports on boot sequence as there is nothing proposed by desktop in such case !

When booting with kernel 2.6.24-16-generic mapping of HD does not make sense as my 2 SATA HD's should be be sda and sdb instead of sdb and sdc !

To reach an acceptable session I had consequentltly to comment out all my sdb* partitions in ftab and I do not even understand how I can boot with fstab parametrized with sda partitions can work with Qtparted viewing only sdb and sdc (I have no other HD's than SATA HD's).

This bug might be a classico as if not mistaken going from Feisty to Gutsy showed a similar problem with new kernel.

If I leave sdb* partitions on in fstab then the boot sequence abort by showing a console in root mode with error messages reported by fsck on those paartitions.

Until a fex is proposed I still have to keep 2.6.20-16-generic as my current kernel.
Regards.

This has nothing to do with KDE, sorry.

Please report the problem to the Ubuntu support, http://launchpad.net
