Description Marco Carrai 2008-04-22 21:41:35 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 4.3.3
OS: Linux

I am using Opensuse 10.3 with Nvidia proprietary driver for 8800 GTS ( latest driver version ). I have installed OpenGl and all related libraries. My xorg.conf has composite enabled and Compiz Fusion runs nice on my kde 3 session. In Kde 4 svn ( starting from february\march about ) i had problem on activating compositing. If i go to, Windows behaviour, effects, enable all effects, i get no error and no effects. If i try with Xrender, effects works. Why effects don't activate ( with openGL ) and Kde gives me no error?
Sorry for my bad english.

I've asked on kde-devel and plasma channel about this. Compositing feature is activated by cmake and compiled on my pc.

Did you actually bother to read what I posted?
Comment 4 Marco Carrai 2008-04-28 19:15:41 UTC
Yes i did :) Can XGL be incompatibile? Kde 4 should warning about it..

And, when reading that document, did you check the AddARGBGLXVisuals option (and others)?
Comment 6 Lubos Lunak 2008-05-22 21:21:52 UTC
And, in case you really use XGL, just deactivate it, it's not needed with nvidia.
