Version: KDE 4.1 svn (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc/g++ OS: Linux In kde3, i had yakuake set to start at kde startup. However, I installed kde4 svn and removed kde3 libs etc. But kde4 still tries to start yakuake on startup - a "kdeinit could not start '/opt/kde/bin/yakuake'" popup is shown when kde4 is loaded and then kde crashes. This is probaly because yakuake isn't properly installed and i suppose any other application'd do it. I got this when starting yakuake from command line: ./yakuake: error while loading shared libraries: libkio.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
What do you mean by "kde crashes" exactly?
by "kde crashes" i mean, "kde crashes completly" :-), some blinking and then kdm login screen, just like Xserver restart. I uninstalled yakuake right now and the error remains, but other error message is shown: "KDEInit could not launch 'yakuake': could not find 'yakuake'" and I forgot - it crashes after i press ok on the error box, not immediately (in both cases).
Can you attach the yakuake.desktop file which creates this trouble?

It was in $HOME/.kde/Autostart
I was receiving the same error message, except when I click OK, it doesn't 'crash kde', but just runs yakuake. I found that when going into the launcher's properties, and disabling DBUS registration, the error went away. This behavior started at the same time I changed my grub setting to acpi=off. I had added this setting because Ubuntu was having trouble seeing the PATA drive (primary is SATA) with acpi turned on.
