A recent update of kde4 in debian experimental to version 4.00.67 brought a bug that causes kopete to crash when selecting a contact from contact list.

It was not compiled from sources, a binary package from experimental branch of debian used

Does it still happen?
Which protocols? which are the loaded plugins? Can you reproduce when disalbing each plugin?
We will not be able to fix the bug without more information

I'm using only ICQ network, so I suppose it is an oscar protocol.

please update, as 0.50.50 is quite old. Reopen if you can continue to reproduce. I could not duplicate this.
