Version: (using 4.00.69 (KDE 4.0.69 >= 20080410), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-15-generic kdebase rev. 796267 It is not possible to set the digital clock widget to prevent the timezone from being displayed : Testcase : - RMB on Digital Clock, - "Timezones" tab - Uncheck "Use local Timezone" - Back on "Appearance" tab - Uncheck "Show timezone" - Click "apply" Show timezone is then checked again and still displayed in the widget.
s/hided/hidden sorry.
Can't reproduce anymore in trunk, closing.
This bug seams to occur in KDE 4.2.0 again. Unchecking the "show timezone" does not hide the timezone. I'm running KDE: 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) "release 82.2" at openSUSE 11.1.
it can hardly be the same issue since the "Use local Timezone" was removed. Can you please indicate how you reproduce the issue ?
Diederik as default you should not have "Show Timezone" checked anyway. Can you explain better what's happening for you exactly? What timezone is not hidden?
the timezone is shown whenever the not-default-timezone is shown. this prevents confusion when the timezone is changed, e.g. by scroll wheeling over the clock. if that is what is being referred to, then it's a purposeful feature that "show timezone" only applies to the default timezone for the clock
> Can you explain better what's happening for you exactly? What timezone is not hidden? The clock applets kept showing "Local" as timezone, even if I unchecked the option. This doesn't seam to happen anymore after I've upgraded to the latest patch-release of the packages in the openSUSE repository. So that bug seams to be FIXED. > The timezone is shown whenever the not-default-timezone is shown. In that case, the checkbox could also be named "Show the word Local on the clock" :-) Or the checkbox could be removed, because it seams logical to me too to show a timezone if you add a clock for a different area. (for example, a sales guy which has clocks for "New york", "China", and his normal time).
..or the checkbox could be named "Also show timezone for local time".
