Version: 1.9.6 (Kontact 1.2.4) (using KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Problem: I use IMAP for my mail, and I need to frequently move messages from inbox to a specific ("saved") folder. I would like to create a keyboard shortcut for this action. As far as I am aware, partial solutions already exist in kmail: - Shortcut "m" gives me a list of folders to which move the selected message. This is not ideal, because it requires me to choose/check the correct folder each time. - For local mail, it is possible to create a filter + keyboard shortcut which does exactly the trick. However, filters cannot be used with IMAP! - "delete message" -shortcut does what I want, but it moves the messages only to trash folder. Otherwise, thanks for an excellent mail client!
IMAP filtering should work... Anyway, this is a dupe of bug 143468 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 143468 ***
Thank you for the reply. However, I do not think this is the solution for my problem, unless I am doing something wrong. As far as I can see, it is possible to create a filter for moving messages IMAP: inbox --> local: saved but not IMAP: inbox --> IMAP: saved If I create a filter to do that and try to apply it, kmail attempts to do something but the folder contents do not change. No error is reported. It works fine for local target. (Sorry, in my original report I did not specify that my "saved" folder is also in IMAP.) I have dovecot IMAP server
