If I want to change my wallpaper I can see the preview of wallpaper isn't in the right position.

see attachment for more.

On another computer all looks good.

My system: thinkpad a31p, radeon mobility fire gl 7800, 1600x1200

with all :) here at the moment 4.0.71 I see this problem on my notebooks.
1. with 1600x1200 and 132x132 dpi
2. with 1400x900 and 127x127dpi

aah I have found the reason. You can reproduce it with a bigger font-size in kde settings. So the position of the wallpaper depends on the font-size.. :)

I can't reproduce this.  Do you still get it in the 4.1 betas or trunk?

I can confirm this bug with the current trunk - see attached screenshot

I think it has to do with the lenght of the new wallpaper button. Because in german the words are longer, it was probably noticed earlier by the op.
In english I had to increase the font size a lot to trigger it.

might fix position of wallpaper on Preview screen when having big fonts or long strings - not totally sure about it as I could not reproduce the same as on the screenshots here so not closing the report.

Can you test it either by building trunk or by getting
http://websvn.kde.org/*checkout*/trunk/KDE/kdebase/workspace/plasma/containments/desktop/BackgroundDialog.ui?revision=831864
and rebuilding your current revision then restart plasma.

I tested it with your fix in trunk and the image is now always correctly centered.
