Description Subiraj Raina 2008-04-07 22:28:41 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.0.3 (KDE 4.0.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

i changed a few things...
like double click on title bar maximizes the window.
or changing the colour scheme in the theme...

both of these done separately have led to a kde crash.
after the crash i have never been able to restart my kde4 in the same account. so i create a new user to enter kde4 environment again... but kdm4 works fine

i have a poor machine...but if it starts smoothly it should run smoothly too..
am i overloading?
i can run every package that came with kde4 but can't change the feel
if itb is of interest...
I have a PIII-600 MHz processor, 256 MB SDRAM (133MHx), SiS 630 chipset, SiS 7018 PCI audio accelerator.

I removed KDE4 due to this problem as i personally was not able to resolve it in my machine and it was very heavy too for my machine.

But in later update of that version of Kubuntu 8.04 that problem was not there. (In the version they removed the Zoom option that popped up on the right hand side top corner of the screen, i do not know the release date of that as i do not have the image). In that version i was able to change color schemes of KDE and all options without causing a crash. I thought it was resolved.

I am sorry i can not persist with KDE4 and do not have a detailed report on that problem.
