Version: (using KDE 4.0.3) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux The tooltips for plasmoids on the panel are always above the plasmoid and their left side is at the left side of the plasmoid. So some of the tooltip is often out of the screen if the plasmoid is not at the bottom of the screen (if it is at the top or the right of the screen, or if it is at the left and the plasmoid is close to the top of the screen). The tooltip should always be on the desktop side of the panel.
Tooltips don't even show up at all when the panel is at the top of the screen here. (Kubuntu)
Usually not as well at me (I think they are completely out of the screen). Sometimes a bit of their lower part appeared.
I find it astonishing that this bug is labeled unconfirmed, since one can confirm it (on fedora 9, kde4.0x) by simply moving the panel to a non-bottom position and hovering the mouse over a window. The tips are always above and to the left of the start of the item. Hence tips don't show at all in top position and show only at max about half of themselves in left position. This is just the start of the non-functionality of the new panel. Items don't reorient themselves to account for the panel's orientation the way they used to. The new panel is like a ten year regression in basic functionality compared with kde 3.5. Gag!
> I find it astonishing that this bug is labeled unconfirmed we honestly don't spend a lot of time moving bugs from unconfirmed to new. not enough triage manpower available; usually things go from unconfirmed->fixed which is, i assume you'll agree, slightly more useful than unconfirmed->new. > Gag! you know, that's exactly how i felt reading your comment here. these kinds of empty, useless comments full of stop-energy are not welcome in the plasma community. please take them elsewhere. in any case, i don't know if you've tried 4.1 but things are a lot better in 4.1.
4.1 currently has tooltips disabled on the taskbar. So this is on hold until they return...
