Version: (using KDE 4.0.3) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux After KDE4 update to 4.0.3 i noticed change in kickoff category highlight color (from light grey (which wasn't visible) to blue). This blue color and icon zooming make kickoff looking very ugly and too much colored. Here is my mockup http://picasaweb.google.com/milan.krivda/KDE4Mockups/photo#5185476069184954562 Please get inspired.
Could you please attach the image to this bug, instead of relying on external sources? Thanks
Created attachment 24188 [details] Kickoff mockup Yes i can, here is.
i've already disabled the icon zooming, but the selection will remain (it just follows your colour scheme) ..
With followed color (default oxygen theme) kickoff is too much colored. I prefer cleaner design. I think color following is not fully implemented, because highlight color is followed (blue), but text color stayed black (setted in theme to white). Will be possible to implement dedicated color chooser in menu configuration dialog for highlight and text color?
ok, now i officially have no idea what you are talking about =) can you please post a screenshot of how kickoff looks on you system with the problematic area higlighted in some way (e.g. draw a red circle around it using kolourpaint or whatever)? thanks...
Sorry, i know my english is not best. I am not talking about bug. I talk about some not very nice design changes. Category(five icons botton in the kickoff) icon zooming look horrible (already disabled - good), category highlight color changed from light grey (not visible) to follow current color scheme (default blue) - this is making kickoff to look too much colored. Personally i think it will be better to set category highlight color permanently to lighter grey and background to darker grey. Ill be happy if will be kickoff looking like on my mockup.
ah, the tab buttons. yes, this is already fixed as well. it's all much prettier.
Nice to hear. Can you post a screen?
