Description Cyrill Helg 2008-04-03 13:03:08 UTC
Version: 0.12.7 (using 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3.3)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

Kopete hangs really long at startup when initialising webcam. If a user don't want webcam support at all thats a annoying. So it would be great if there's an option to just disable the whole webcam subsystem in kopete.

ya that could be a very nice option to add

We recently introduced the possibility to compile Kopete without video-support.

Adding a runtime switch wouldn't make sense, simply don't use video devices if you don't want to.

The "hangs on startup" bug is tracked as bug 167011.
