Version: 4.0.3 (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux I just compiled 4.0.3 and have encountered several issues with the panel. It's easy to reproduce. First, resize the panel to small. Then move the panel to the top and you get this : http://img99.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot2ei9.png This white stripe just below the panel should obviously not be there. Then when you move the panel to the right you get this : http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot3py8.png Now there are several issues here, but the most noticeable is the clock. Finally when you move the panel back to the bottom, it now looks like this : http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot1ki8.png There's that white stripe that first appeared when I moved the panel to the top. And if I resize it to tiny, here's what happens : http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot4us2.png The clock and the kickoff icon get eaten up. I hope that helps, and that this can be fixed before 4.0.3 is officially released. It is visually annoying, especially since KDE4 is so visually appealing otherwise.
I am having a similar issue with latest versions. When panel is smaller than X, the launcher applet icon is not shrank. So when I open the menu at the buttom, the menu actually appears at the top!
Created attachment 24806 [details] Menu wrongly shown on top I reduced image size, removing the unneeded center background. But it is one snapshot. I press the icon on the bottom, and the menu is shown on the top. You can notice that the lower part of the icon is shown on the top.
With 4.1 just around the corner, it's time to close off 4.0 bugs. In the off chance that I'm wrong in believing this to be fixed in 4.1, please reopen. :)
It was a definite defect in KDE. Even if it is fixed in 4.1, the resolution cannot be WORKSFORME. Anyway I will be glad to see that it is fixed.
