Description boski_cinek 2008-03-29 21:09:58 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Dolphin from KDE4 has a serious problem handling files/directories with broken encoding (with "?" chars in names). Unfortunately it's hard to provide such files, because it appears that tar is fixing broken chars in archiving process. So instead I have to provide screenshot. Hope it's clear enough.

Sorry for bug name. Bugzilla asked me for keyword not bug report title.
Comment 2 boski_cinek 2008-04-01 21:02:01 UTC
Are you sure this is KDE libs bug? AFAIK Konsole can handle this quite well.
Comment 3 boski_cinek 2008-06-04 20:03:42 UTC
This is still present in KDE 4.1 Beta:/. Very nasty, I have to use konsole to open some directories from CD's with invalid encoding.

This may be related/duplicated to bug 159241
Comment 5 FiNeX 2008-12-20 12:37:26 UTC
I agree with Dario, anyway the bug #165044 (which is the same) has been closed as "WONTFIX" even if the problem is still present. I close this as dup of bug #159241. Waiting for bug #165044 will be reopened
