Description Bejron Andersson 2008-03-29 09:46:55 UTC
Version: 1.4.8 (using 3.5.9, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu5)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-12-generic

Since 1.4.8 Amarok won't remember the settings for the connected media devices or the devices themselves.

Also, it rescans the library every x minute and steals cpu time.

This is a bug in Kubuntu.
However this is already known to them and a fix should be released soon or even is released already.

Thank you for your report.

This is not the case, the bug appeared before I installed the Kubuntu (ran Ubuntu exclusively until the day before I reported the bug) with the 1.4.8 update. Or the problem lies elsewhere in the interaction with a third party software.

Comment 3 Lydia Pintscher 2008-03-31 19:11:27 UTC
This problem is not specific to Kubuntu but all *ubuntu as far as I can tell.
It got introduced with a patch for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LUKS IIRC

Again: a fix is ready and maybe already released.
