Description Markus Brueckner 2008-03-29 01:17:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

In my opinion the rather ugly "Incoming encrypted message" (or something like this, I use the german version) is unacceptable (especially as this text is saved to the log file too. That's why I decided to patch my local copy of kopete too use a cleaner approach, a little bit like KMail does: encrypted messages are surrounded by a green frame with light green background. I patched the plugin to insert the necessary HTML into the display string and the Gaim theme I use to format it accordingly (using CSS). I hope that my current solution will be flexible enough for each theme to come up with a fitting format for encrypted messages. Note that only the Gaim theme is patched here. Other themes have to be patched in order to see a change.

Patch for a cleaner display of encrypted messages in the GnuPG-plugin

The patch applies to version 3.5.8. It may apply to other versions but that is
totally untested.

In the KDE 4 series we now have small icons indicating crypto status.
