Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs Mandriva bugreport : https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=38959 Description of problem: when you want to move a file to the trash can but this file is on a different partition this file is moved to ~/.local/share/Trash which can take a very long time (and fill up the home partition!) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. move a large file, which is not on the same partition as ~ to trash 2. 3.
Well, moving manually the file from a different partition to ~, is equally slow? Anyway, filling the home is not a good behaviour!!! :-(
You can create trash directories on other partitions, see http://www.ramendik.ru/docs/trashspec.html
With KDE 4 this is not a problem anymore: files are moved to .Trash directory on the same partition. (dunno if it is due to KDE or an upgraded base system).
