Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux In Properties of a folder I can choose custom icon, for example from section Places I can choose folder-image. When I drag and drop such a folder to Places panel this custom folder will be lost. In places standard icon of a folder appears. Screenshot -> http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=systemwideosz2.png PS. I report this bug despite using SVN-before-feature-freeze because it occurred also in 4.0 AFAIR. If I shouldn't report this one I'm sorry :)
Thanks for the report - I just tried to reproduce it but it works well here (I did an update of SVN around 21:00 [21.3.2008]). I clicked 'Properties' on a folder and selected a different icon. Afterwards I dragged the folder into the places view and the icon was there as well. Do I miss something?
I can swear that the same steps which you described will result in this bug for me. :) But if it works for you straight from svn then I will mark it as resolved. It is probably fault somewhere on my site. Greetings and thanks for feedback.
OK, thanks :-) What's quite cool: if you change the icon of a folder which is already in the sidebar, the icon will be changed in the sidebar too (I did not expect this - kudos to Kevin Ottens who implemented the sidebar).
Reopening. Now tested with KDE4.1RC1 openSUSE packages. Still when I drag and drop folder with specific icon to Places panel this custom icon folder will be lost. Furthermore Places panel works as expected when I use 'Add to Places" action, it won't work only with drag&drop Tested also on fresh KDE config. screenshot: http://tnij.org/dolphinplaces
