issue is about agenda view in korganizer

our company uses colours&categories to feature out common activites like meeting/call/work_on_dokument etc.
its improves extremely usability of kontakt in calendar area...

the bug is that in a certain day all to-dos become orange (bu default) ;)) its an disaster for a productivity!!!
the function "to-do due today color" should refer only to To-do view!!!!! its useless in agenda view... developers should also consider a checkbox solution for it...

I think for some people it is useful to have the red/orange/green colors. A checkbox option would make sense.
Comment 2 Marcin Wilk 2008-03-22 21:18:26 UTC
I will try make my self clear ;)

the function "to-do due today color" should refer only to to-do view of korganizer because in that place it is useful to see in a long list of items which one is due today.

however on calendar view it makes all todos display one same color - it is totally useless and brakes usability!!!
1. looking on calendar I generally now where is a today dy - day header is bolded and timeline of Marcus Bains attracts my eyes!
2. colors of categories which are used to recognize common activities like call/mail/banking_transfer are not visible since they display "to-do due today color". I makes work on tasks much more difficult and slower...

I can provide screen shots to explain it better however I'm not sure I'm allowed to attach it here??? 3 files 250kb each...

adding a checkbox

there might be some people who would like to turn of this function even in
to-do view
Comment 6 Bruno Virlet 2008-03-22 22:55:06 UTC
I have added a checkbox option to deactivate the red/orange/green color in monthview and agenda view and take in account categories colors. However I think having colored todos is useful on monthview for instance and I like it because you immediately see which one are overdue. This is why I made this optional.

Feel free to test korganizer from kde trunk to tell me if this suits your needs.

take look on example of my vision of solution to this bug

I'm not sure I understand u correctly but:
1. checkbox on red - to-do_overdue_color is ok
2. checkbox on orange - to-do_due_today_color is ok
3. checkbox on green - default_event_color is usless... there is no need to
switch it on/of... you always need task/event colored on some default color and
it works different than 1. & 2. cos its not superior over category colors!

On my proposal of mask I also added checkboxes in To-do View hovever they are
not as much important as those in Agenda & Month Views

I really admire your work an I'm surprised how fast you react on my report!!!
however it is beyond my skills to compile form svn kde trunk an test your
changes... I'm experienced user of groupware solutions and I can provide
reports about usability improvements/annoyances like that one... but I cant
handle testing ;(

maybe you will be so kind and send me an sceren of menu mask?
