Description Bruce Wolfe 2008-03-19 11:19:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Forgive the excessive rhetoric but I am very passionate about this application.
This is probably one of the best applications and necessary for keeping track of and absolute migration of websites especially between different platforms. I have a disability (bi-lateral "carpal tunnel' to my neck) so anything that reduces the amount of time behind a keyboard is good. This app does just that.

The problem is that I did a complete reinstall of Kubuntu and didn't get my entire apps list all the way written down thus forgot the name of this application.

So, what does one intuitively search for?
"site map"
"site tree"
"website sitemap"
"... generator"
"link checker"
etc., etc.

Even in Adept Manager in Kubuntu the tags and description does not begin to describe it in user-friendly terms.

There would be far more downloads and acceptance of this fantastic application if there were some rewrites of the description and metadata.

I would be so very happy and honored to provide you with that service.

Hi Bruce!

The README file in KLinkStatus does mention "link checker" but the one in the kdewebdev modules (to which KLinkStatus belongs) have link validity checker. I changed it to just link checker and committed it.
The only metadata I can think of is the README and .desktop files which are now ok, but in any case it would be good to contact the ubuntu packagers.

Thanks a lot for your comments, you don't imagine how important to my motivation is to hear that.
