Description R (Chandra) Chandrasekhar 2008-03-18 14:47:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When I activate Help -> Report Bug... the Launch Bug Report Wizard button starts konqueror (jumping icon) but nothing happens after that.

I originally wanted to file a bug report for digikam, but could not. I then tested the Report Bug... dialogue for other KDE applications and it shows the same behaviour across the board for all the KDE applications I tested.

I recently found that the administrator button in kde-settings/kcontrol did not return hwen activated but simply hangs. See:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175909

So, this may be part of my overall KDE setup becoming flaky.

One other point, I downloaded the Kubuntu KDE 4.0.2 packages and installed them on my system as well as suggested at:

http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-4.0.2.php

which says:

"KDE 4.0.2 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 7.10 and Hardy. They install to /usr/lib/kde4 and can be installed alongside your existing KDE 3."

About the first problem probably kde4 wasn't correctly packaged (or the debug report software was missing). About the comment #1 it is not about a KDE problem. I'm closing this as DOWNSTREAM because the problems are related to the distribution packages.
