Version: (using KDE 4.0.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc version 4.1.2 for i686-pc-linux-gnu OS: Linux The kickoff applet opens by default on the "Favorites" tab. It would be much appreciated, if this default behavior could be changed, for example to opening "Recent" tab by default.
yes, I think making either, a) default tab user-configurable, or b) make left tab always default, and make the tabs user-orderable either of those should solve this
> b) make left tab always default, and make the tabs user-orderable I suggest to re-introduce middle-click + dragging in order to be able to change the order of the tabs and extend this to panels, i.e. be able to position the applets on the panel the same way, i.e. not not only their order, but position.
Why use middle-click for dragging the tabs? I would never find that out by myself. Rather use left click and drag, just like you reorder tabs in konsole.
I'd prefer to Ctrl+click to reorder, but regardless there needs to be some sort of option

This ticket is both older and has more helpful comments on which way the reordering might be achieved best, so reopening.

Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
