Description michael 2008-03-16 08:47:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Hi!

Maybe since 3.5.9 I have problem with the keyboard and mouse layout. May be randomly or by any other means which I was yet not able to find, the complete keyboard layout changes. More or less every short cut changes to some other defaults. ALT+F2, ALT+F5 all do not work as my kde3-default with 3 modifier. Also the mouse behaviour changes drastically. With the mouse press a link in konqueror opens allways a new tab and so on.

I have those problem on my core-duo Desktop as well as on my older Pentium 4 - Laptop.

It is also NOT possible to change back the keyboard layout within the kcontrol center. The only thing what helps is to logout out and login again.

Sometimes I have the feeling it happens when opening a ssh - connection to other computers I use. But it also happens simply when I surfe with konqueror, but I was not able to reproduce this behavior.

Best regards,

 Michael

Are you still experiencing this type of issues even with KDE 3.5.10 or (if you did the switch) with KDE 4?

Sorry, I do not know, because at the moment I do not use KDE4 due to too many inconveniences and missing features for my personal use. I will take another try of KDE4 if the version 4.2 is available and see if it is fixed.

Best regards,

 Michael

In KDE4.3 this behavior does not appear any more.
