Version: 0.6.1 (using 4.0.2 (KDE 4.0.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic The Select All feature in Okular does not select any text or graphics (either through the Edit menu, or Ctrl+A) - hitting these results in no visual indication of a selection, and nothing it put into the clipboard.
"does not work" is a bit too generic, for something that I use quite often, even for testing :) Do you have the problem with a specific document, or with any document you open (PDF, DjVu, OpenDocument, etc)?
Absolutely nothing happens when I hit Select All, either in a PDF or ODT, the PDFs were created from various sources (Google Docs, OO.org, Illustrator). When the program is run from terminal, there is no strange output, and there is no indication that anything happens when I hit it.
How much time do you wait? The thing is: when you select "Select All", it has to extract all the text from the pages, if not extracted already (eg by doing a search). But nevertheless, it should not take that much. Can you try the "Select All" with a document with 1-2 pages? And, can you select the text using the rectangular text selection?
I waited upwards of 20 seconds in a 1.5 page, 70k PDF. And yes I can select with the rectangular selection tool.
Wait, I think to know what's going on: are you in Text Selection Mode?
Oh my... there being no toolbar icon for it visible by default, I never thought to check for any other mode. Now don't I feel silly, thank you for your assistance Pino. I have also opened two wishes (#159276 & #159277) - things I feel might be useful after this little mishap.
