Description Simon Oosthoek 2008-03-13 12:59:50 UTC
Version: 0.1.5-rc2 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.1.3 20070929 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.1.2-16ubuntu2)
OS: Linux

Ever since I upgraded to kipi-plugins 0.1.5 (beta 1) and now rc2, I get occasional corrupted file downloads or silent non-downloads. At first I suspected my card reader, but replacing that didn't fix it. The card appears fine, the camera doesn't complain and when I retry the file download, I usually get the file correctly.

I do want to use the latest digikam and dcraw plugins, so I will have to be very wary while this isn't fixed yet...

Cheers

Simon

Simon,

Why you still to use this unmaintened plugin instead the native camera gui include in digiKam core ?

Gilles,

because that is what opens when I plug in the CF card and I choose "download photo's with digikam". I didn't know this module was unmaintained and it doesn't seem intuitive to use a "camera interface" for downloading from a CF card using a cardreader. I am open to suggestions, but basically I use what is presented to me in the GUI...

Cheers

Hum, sound like you use the right Camera GUI (:=)))

Give me a screenshot of the interface to be sure.

Simon,

Which version of digiKam you use ?

In current 0.9.4-beta2, i have fixed several bugs especially about your report.

Can you test 0.9.4-beta2 or better, try to compile current implementation from svn repository ?

Also, which libgphoto2 you use ?

Note than kipi-plugins is not used here. Camera interface is a component from digiKam core.

I can try compiling digikam-svn, but I'm not sure when I will be able to do it. May take a few days...

Ok. thanks Simon. I still here.

I managed to compile and install 0.9.4svn, so far I've not seen the download problem, so I guess it is fixed. I'll close the bug for now, if it re-appears, I'll reopen it.
