Version: 0.12.7 (using 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu2) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic I have just installed the KDE desktop within the last 30 minutes (i don't know if this would be related) and everything seems to work fine. I opened kopete, tried to set up an account using the msn protocol. The program then launched the KDE wallet, asked for a password and after i enter this information both programs crash. Strangely, if opened again and this time i select to deny the kde wallet and get to the password stage, enter the info and it crashes again. I have posted the report output if it helps: (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Can't reproduce in KDE 4.0.99. The backtrace seems to be completely unrelated to kwallet though. Maybe there was some msn-specific bug back in 3.5.8 that was solved later?
Yes, this is a duplicate of bug 159782 (and maybe bug 138494 too?).
*** Bug 159782 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
