having to open konqueror to change "files associations" is weird, especially when the default file browser is dolphin :)
Comment 1 FiNeX 2008-03-08 11:24:31 UTC
You needn't to open konqueror. Anyway the procedure (from dolphin) is a bit tricky:
1) start dolphin
2) right click to a file
3) click to "properties"
4) at the end of the "Type" line you will find a small button, click to open the file association configuration dialog (for that filetype).

Anyway you can start the full file association dialog from the systemsettings.

Maybe should the dialog be reached even from the dolphin settings? I don't think so.

What do you think Thomas?

System settings -> Advanced -> File associations.

ooops, sorry, I wasn't aware of the "System settings -> Advanced -> File associations"

For FiNeX's question :
Dolphin is a tool to work with files... perhaps a shortcut in the settings menu isn't too much. However, the link must get the user to the system settings interface, not another way to manage associations.
