Version: 3.6 (using 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3.3) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic At the moment users have to double-click on a note's title to produce a dialog box in which to enter the node's new title. I suggest to just use the first line of the note as its title. It's like this for example on PalmOs and Gnome's Tomboy and proved super practical. As a user i would not have to think of any meta-data or replacing the default title (which is just a date) with something more meaningful. After all, it should help taking notes and not be so much about document handling or metadata ... just quick notes.
Instead I like to set the title on the note. :-)
This would be a great addition I agree. As a side note, double-clicking the title doesn't always trigger editing the title, and I mention this because it's strange as I don't have problems with double-clicking with anything else but KNotes. Even if it would have to be an option, it would make taking notes a lot easier and quicker without the need to use mouse to change the title. Step 1. You create a new note Step 2. You start writing the title Step 3. You click enter and start writing the note Or you can skip the step 2 and just start writing the note as the title would (optionally) be taken from the first row of your note, making it still easy to find from a list of notes, even if you don't add a special title later. And I'd like the option to keep the date string at the beginning of the title, which serves for other purposes well.
Oh sorry, and I forgot to mention that this way of creating notes would also solve the problem that the bug #107903 (Search for a "keyword" doesn't find the keyword in the titles of notes) creates. Although not the bug itself, I know, I know...
