When making this field editable user can quickly fill it and move beyond. Categories can be separated by ; . Even more important it is the easiest way of adding of new categories which is bothersome.

I would like to see this implemented, with one amendment: tab completion. I suggest that the Korganizer team look at the Digikam implementation of keyboard entry for tags, and mimic that. This will ensure consistency across KDE applications. Note that Korganizers' categories are analogous to Digikam's tags, as both hold a many-to-many relationship with the event / photo at hand.
