Description Elan Ruusamäe 2008-02-27 00:22:31 UTC
Version: 1.9.8 (using 3.5.8, PLD Linux Distribution)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (PLD Linux)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22.18_desktop-1

kmail doesn't ask you to input new password for the smtp server if the password was invalid as it was possibly changed on server side. probably the option that i marked to save passwords in kwalled plays also role.

confirmed also with kde 3.5.9

however if the saved password is wrong for IMAP online account it displays you window where you can correct username and input new (or corrected password).

to change smtp password you have to correct in the settings dialog.

Confirmed with KDE 4.1 RC1. Moving this bug to the mailtransport library.

Can someone please please please please look in this annoying issue which drives me crazy every time i mistype my password?

I don't really get how the developers for such a talented and advanced mail client can even miss that functionality.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

The compontent kdepimlibs don't exist anymore since 2011. It was splitted into several parts some moved to Frameworks the other are still under de KDE PIM umbrella.

The entire code base went through significant changes. We ported the source code in meanwhile to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out the new 20.08 release and give your feedback.
