I also have this problem, using KDE 4.1.2 (Debian Testing, http://kde4.debian.net/). 1. Browse to any site with flash video 2. Wait a couple seconds 3. kwin locks up - can't change focus, can't close window, mouse is locked into one cursor. Alt+Tab'ing to an opened Konsole and `killall konqueror` fixes the problem (You see a small window flash open before it is closed filled with the flash video from nspluginviewer, I suspect). Video works fine in Firefox and such.
Still valid, using 4.1.3.
I can also confirm this with 4.1.3 using the new Flash 10 (installed from Adobe).
Hi there. This bug used to happen in my konqueror 4.1.1, now it is working in konqueror-4.2beta1 using Shockwave Flash 10.0-r12 and nspluginwrapper (I am using Gentoo AMD64).
i also confirm with 4.1.3

Don't you think that this is already confirmed issue? It has been a major pita for all 4.x era. IMO browser fails quite badly if you need to open firefox 20 times per day to see very common type of content in the web.
Yes, I think this one can be considered as having been confirmed ;)
I think the summary doesn't quite describe it (although initial comment did say about X freezing): This doesn't only affect to the problematic window but hangs the whole desktop and prevents user using any other program too. I typically get rid of the situation by wanking enough alt+f (trying to access file menu) but when the hangup opens or crashes the whole window doesn't seem to be any consistent behavior. Most likely something else happens than what I think helps.
Cannot reproduce. If any of you affected by this still have this issue with the latest stable KDE release (v4.7.4) or higher, feel free to reopen this ticket.
Hi Dawit, As you propose, I'd like to reopen this ticket, as I still have the bug here. I am using Konqueror 4.7.4 from debian; The problem arises mainly with videos in flash player. I am using "on-demand plugins", this works ok when clicking on the button which loads and starts the flash applet. The problem arises when clicking on the video to start play: it looks like the flash plugin grabs X, mouse events are then all ignored (even by applet) and key events seems to all go to the applet (I can use tab+space to navigate in the applet's button on youtube). The window manager's shortcuts still works however and can help get out of the problem.

It is an issue with the nspluginviewer itself.
Flash and Netscape plugins are no longer supported.
