Version:           1.9.7 (using KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs
OS:                Linux

Whenever I try to save an attachment (using the "Save all attachements..." context menu) or save an email that includes an attachment (using the "Save as..." context menu), KMail just hangs and does not redraw it's windows or otherwise respond again. To resolve this, it is neccessary to kill KMail and reload it.

I am using the default versions of both KDE and KMail as per the x86_64 version of Mandriva 2008. I am running this on a "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+" machine.

Does not happen for me, I can't reproduce this.

Can you get a backtrace with GDB when KMail hangs?

In getting the backtrace, I found that KDE had managed to get into a confused state and rebooting with a reduced set of applications loading up resolved this issue. I thus suspect that something else was upsetting KDE.
