symptoms

a light green display whenever you select settings/configure/devices. You may see the real moving pic embedded in the green image, cursors do not work, white persists down, others do nothing.

 What driver are you using , I wonder if other webcams using the same driver have problem or if maybe there's another driver for your webcam so you can test with it.
