Description Joe 2008-02-12 04:53:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

As the title states, many of the added widgets flicker on the plasma panel. Sometimes they simply flash, sometimes they disappear all together. This is usually fixable by hovering my mouse pointer over the panel or clicking on a taskbar button. Often times the clock on the panel also becomes distorted, showing only one number on the far right. Hovering over that with my mouse usually fixes the issue..although not always. If it doesn't, usually clicking the clock fixes things.

This doesn't happen always, just on occasion, often when the panel has several windows on the taskbar.

I'm not sure what to include for this bug. I use an NVIDIA Geforce card, with the newest driver installed on SuSE 10.3.

I hope this helps.

these are x.org + driver bugs. not much we can do about any of it.

Ok thanks, I was unaware of this. Do you know if there is a known fix for this? if so, can you direct me to that? Thanks.

all i can suggest is try the latest drivers. some things are certainly not fixed, and are flaws in x.org itself. these are annoying times, as plasma/krunner/etc are really the first mainstream apps that aren't window managers to really use some of these features; so we're going through some short term pain atm for long term gain.. sorry =(

No problem. Thanks for the info, it helps. Now that I know it's not KDE..I'll make sure to keep my drivers up-to-date.
