Version: 1.0.4 (using KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Peter 'p2' De Schrijver <p2@debian.org> reported the following bug on the Debian tracker (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=463190): "When trying to burn an audio CD based on 24bit sampled flac files, k3b complains about 'Unable to handle the following files due to an unsupported format' without mentioning the problem is the sample size, not the flac format itself. See http://www.aavepyora.net/musa/bizarroworld.html for some example files. These files are decoded without problems by the flac command-line utility." He says that ideally K3b would convert these files directly, but at least the error message could be changed to say that the format is supported but not the sample size.
the files from that website work perfectly in k3b. Could it be that the flac plugin is not installed?
It does appear to be there... $ ls -l /usr/lib/kde3/libk3bf*decoder.* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.5K Feb 5 17:42 /usr/lib/kde3/libk3bffmpegdecoder.la -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 37K Feb 5 17:44 /usr/lib/kde3/libk3bffmpegdecoder.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.5K Feb 5 17:42 /usr/lib/kde3/libk3bflacdecoder.la -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 46K Feb 5 17:44 /usr/lib/kde3/libk3bflacdecoder.so And I've got the following versions of flac: libflac++6 => 1.2.1 libflac8 => 1.2.1
In an attempt to clean up old bugs that are not valid for K3b 2.0 (=KDE SC 4.x port) anymore, this is now being marked as UNMAINTAINED. If this bug is still valid for 2.0, please reopen it.
