Description Kevin Coonan 2008-01-29 06:23:44 UTC
Version: unknown (using 3.5.8 "release 33.2" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.2-34-bigsmp

As so many before me have said, kmail won't send messages. They linger in the outbox for an indeterminate period of time, and as if by magic, they often get sent. But not always. I get the "invalid transport" message when sending.

This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes kmail works fine, sometimes is becomes a work stoppage issue. This is not related to attachments, encryption. The same settings often work just fine. Often if I send a new e-mail it seems to jar things to life and the mail gets out.

Using KMail 1.9.6 (enterprise 20071221.751182), KDE 3.5.8 (release 33.2), openSUSE 10.2

Yes, many have said that before, and there are many bug reports about that, no need to open a new one.
You might want to remove (with backup) your KMail config file, it sounds like you have an invalid transport account.
