Description David J. Knowles 2008-01-29 03:59:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

This occurs intermittantly.

When starting a new application a phantom window appears. This appears in both the application bar and on the screen.
The icon for the window is the same as for an existing application. In normal circumstances the window either vanishes or becomes the window for the new application (I am not sure). In certain circumstances this phantom window remains, cluttering the application bar with a non existant application icon and leaving a phantom small window.

A picture of the application bar with the phantom window above it.

The window is just above the application bar. The Application icon which
relates to the window is slightly to the right of the window. As can be seen
the icon is a fuzzier version of a real application icon (last application on
the right).

Please attach output of 'xprop' and clicking on the window.

Can you still reproduce this bug with a recent KDE version? (4.1 or 4.0.5)
